The Lifelong Learners of 国产福利资源 student organization was recognized as the Student Organization Program of the Year during 国产福利资源鈥檚 2024 Celebration of Leadership Awards. This distinction honors a student organization that positively contributes to the growth of 国产福利资源's community through creative approaches to reach a diverse student body.
Faculty advisor from the School of Aging Studies, Amy Corbin, LCSW, accepted this award alongside students Kevin Lipton, president of the organization, and Chen-Yi Huang, who serves as vice president.
As Lipton began auditing classes and exploring different student organizations, he shared with Corbin that it was difficult to find a group with a sense of community representative of his experience. Lifelong Learners of 国产福利资源 was born to better connect and represent 国产福利资源's diverse student body. The group fosters intergenerational relationships through multiple free events and mentorship opportunities.
"It is often through a series of small steps that we can cultivate sustainable change," said Corbin.
Lifelong Learners of 国产福利资源 is helping to pave the way for 国产福利资源's Age-Friendly University initiative.
